I just wanted to thank my classmates that have been so supportive of our family. As you may or may not know, Ray was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. SMA is the #1 genetic killer of infants; it is an incurable, terminal disease when diagnosed in infancy (the average life expectancy is 2 years). He was diagnosed in March 2009 so this has been a really rough year for us. We have been fundraising for Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (www.fsma.org) and have been raising awareness of the disease. We remain hopeful for something great...soon!
